There are different benefits that you can get from the Pontoon blackjack variation. It has something unique to bring to the table and removes the monotony that can be associated with the original game. In some circles this version has been considered to be the early version of British blackjack.

The internet is fertile ground for this sort of play depending on how you take the rules. It is important that the rules are not corrupted as you play the game. There are certain rules that are similar to blackjack but you will have to put up with certain twists in the way that you play the game. The Pontoon blackjack variation is an interesting mix of tactics but you can really succeed if you follow its rules.

The rules that define the Pontoon blackjack variation

The game requires that there are at least two players. Any configuration that less than that will remove some of the enjoyment that you are supposed to get from the game. The top eight players can form a set. Two card decks can be used if there are eight players involved. The card values will match the common blackjack version. However the ace can be equivalent to one or eleven. The queen is ten. The pattern continues until you have the full set of cards which can be used to play the game. The player should be aiming to reach the maximum of 21. Of course in reality they will have some compromises and might win the game without reaching the absolute maximum in the game. The banker has the advantage especially during the ties.

The value of cards can vary but in most versions these are the configurations: The pontoon is worth the 21 under two cards. The ace can be combined with the K Q J and 10 combinations. The five card trick is very popular and it has a 21 or less under five cards. The three cards can come to 21 if they are less than five cards. The bust is a hand that has a total of more than twenty one.  The banker will deal the cards face down and each player will get their share.  The player to the left of the banker will be the first to receive their card and then the clockwise order will be followed. The banker may require that they see the first card that is dealt. Where the banker has a Pontoon then the round will be over. The banker can collect double payments from the player stakes if they win the bet.

Bankers and the Pontoon blackjack variation

The banker is given a lot of power in this game. This is because they can collect double under certain situations. However this should not be taken to imply that the players have no say in the game. They can still win great amounts of money depending on the way that they have configured the game. It is up to them to find the right balance in the way that they settle the Pontoon blackjack variation.
